On September 05, 2021, Datagroup received the Telecom Awards in three categories:
- "The Company of the Year" in the area of landline communications — Datagroup and Volia;
- "Breakthrough of the Year" — deal of the year on the telecom market: Datagroup acquired Volia;
- "The best provider of linear content" — Volia.
The professional telecom community noted that the acquisition of Volia by Datagroup is one of the most high-profile events on the telecom market. Thanks to the merger with Volia, the company is among the top three landline communication providers. The combined network will cover more than 4 million Ukrainian households in the country's 50 largest cities, and fiber-optic infrastructure with a length of more than 30,000 km will become one of the largest in the country.
In addition to two wins, the company won first place in the "Best Linear Content Provider" nomination. Currently, Volia cooperates with the largest international and Ukrainian content producers and owners, such as Disney, Universal, Film.ua, and Paramount studios. Volia is the only company among the Ukrainian providers in Ukraine that owns five Cine+ TV channels. It provides unique sports content — subscribers can watch all UEFA European Cup matches. In addition, the Volia TV streaming platform has one of the largest online media libraries in Ukraine, which currently numbers more than 13,000 movies, series, and shows. All these achievements and nationwide recognition once again confirm that Datagroup is a reliable telecom partner for customers in various business segments: corporate, inter-operator, and home segments of the telecom market.
Datagroup acquired Volia only three months ago. Then I emphasized that the synergy will be noticeable in two years. Today, I am pleased to admit that the synergy and significant acceleration of the combined company are obvious from the moment of concluding the agreement! So, I want to say that it was an extremely successful decision. We strengthened our position in all segments, we managed to unite the strengths of the companies.
