In November 2015, the «Datagroup» national communication operator increased capacity of the Kyiv-Frakfurt global channel passing through Poland, reaching the rate of 100 Gb/s, and boosted the channels capacity in the Kyiv- Warsaw area up to 100 Gb/s. The necessity to extend the channel is determined by a significant growth in the amount of traffic transferred through the «Datagroup» network channels.
Within the framework of implementing the network modernizing project, the company’s technical experts completed installation and adjustment of the appurtenant equipment on the blackbone network nodes in the localities of Mościska, Leżajsk, Rzeszów, Ropczyce, Tarnów and Kraków.
Besides, it is projected to double the capacity of the channel at the Kyiv-Frankfurt area by the end of 2015. Consequently, the aggregate capacity of the global transition to Poland will make up 300 Gb/s and the aggregate capacity of all external channels of the «Datagroup» will make up over 900 Gb/s, including transit traffic in the Asia-to-Europe direction, within the scope of the company’s participation in the REAL (Rapid Europe-Asia Link) project.
The internet traffic volume within the «Datagroup» network is constantly growing. ‘Extension of international channels is an essential stage of internet service quality enhancement efforts,’ says Maksim Smelianets, general director of the «Datagroup». ‘We appreciate our customers’ credit and scrutinize the quality of service provided, therefore we boost the external communication channels capacity in an outstripping tempo’.
