The best companies in the rating were determined by an expert jury based on the assessment of the financial indicators of businesses for 2023, their innovativeness, use of modern technologies, support for corporate social responsibility projects. DATAGROUP and Volia companies confirmed their confident positions in the market based on a combination of factors.
The awarding of the “Leader of the Telecom Industry” award from the delo.ua publication and the magazine “TOP-100. Ratings of the Largest” took place as part of the Business Wisdom Summit, which brought together more than 700 representatives of Ukrainian companies in Kyiv on April 10. Mykhailo Shelemba, CEO of DATAGROUP and Volia, commented on receiving the award:
"We are grateful for the recognition of the contribution of DATAGROUP and Volia to the development of the Ukrainian telecom market. Over the past three years, we have been constantly increasing investments in network modernization, increasing its energy independence and fault tolerance, building new sections and implementing modern technologies. And at the same time, we help a lot those who need it - the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the state, Ukrainians. We consider this an investment in the future of Ukraine and our responsible choice."
Thus, during 2021-2023, despite all the difficulties associated with a full-scale invasion, DATAGROUP and Volia invested heavily in programs to modernize the unified network throughout Ukraine. It began in 2021 and is being implemented to this day together with Cisco and Juniper. Thanks to the work already carried out, the IP-Core network was completely modernized, and the fault tolerance of the core network was more than doubled. In key areas, the network capacity has increased 10 times. The telecom network has been completely modernized – it has become more modern. The last two years have also sharply increased the need to ensure network fault tolerance and its energy independence. Currently, the autonomy of equipment operation in the event of power outages is provided by hundreds of generators and thousands of batteries – investments in this project amounted to over UAH 150 million. And in response to the growing demand for Internet services, access to which is provided by energy-independent technologies, this year the companies DATAGROUP and Volia are focusing on the construction of a GPON network.
“All these projects together allow us to create one of the largest and most flexible networks in the telecom market of Ukraine,” added Mykhailo Shelemba. “And thanks to this, to provide our clients and subscribers with modern, in-demand services at a qualitatively new level.”
