Mykhailo Shelemba, an experienced business leader and CEO of DVL Group of Companies, joined the Strategic Council of Diia.City United Business Union.
Mykhailo Shelemba is a successful business transformer who actively contributes to the telecom industry development and brings the companies led by him to a new level of development. His professional path is a vivid example of rapid career growth and achievement of ambitious goals. He started his career in 2007 at Piraeus Bank Ukraine as a credit analyst and later became the head of project financing. In 2011, he joined the McKinsey team, where he managed projects in Ukraine and the Middle East. In 2016, he headed the Datagroup company, and from 2021, he became the general director of the already united Datagroup and Volia Group of Companies. In 2024, he completed the largest M&A deal for Ukraine in the last 10 years, attracting large-scale international investment to that end. As a result of acquiring by the French NJJ Holding of Datagroup, Volia, and lifecell telecom companies and their subsequent merger, a new powerful player appeared on the Ukrainian telecom market – the DVL Group of Companies. Mykhailo Shelemba became the merged company CEO.
That deal was a powerful signal for foreign investors. As Oleksandr Konotopskyi, a member of the Diia.City United Strategic Council and Ajax Systems founder, noted, “This is a signal to all Western capital: Ukraine is fundable. The beneficiaries of this transaction are not only buyers and sellers. This is all Ukrainian business and the state.”
Today, DVL Group companies are among the largest employers in the industry. They serve nearly 11 million customers in the B2C, B2B, and B2G segments. The Group is constantly included in the ratings of innovative companies and large investors, leaders of the Ukrainian economy and the best employers, its projects and achievements are recognized by Ukrainian and international experts, in particular Excellence Awards from TM Forum, The Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO), etc.
“I am pleased to join the professional team of the Diia.City United Strategic Council,” Mykhailo Shelemba commented. “I am sure that my experience, multiplied by the expertise and experience of colleagues in other industries, will be able to benefit the development of innovative communities and the launch of projects that are extremely important for Ukraine, which will help its recovery, development, and growth. I believe in the successful future of our country and its potential, which is based on the producibility, modernity, and courage of implementing solutions needed today. Joining forces in this direction allows one to get better results and move faster.”
