For the second year in a row, the project to support war orphans “Our Children” confirms its social significance in the MMR Competition “Responsible Country”. The best projects of Ukrainian companies are determined by the voting of the reader community and the conclusions of the expert jury. The purpose of the competition is to tell about the best CSR initiatives, highlight the involvement of business in supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine, veterans, victims of the war, as well as to tell about the implementation of inclusive solutions, educational, cultural projects, etc.
“Our Children” is a project about a valuable contribution to the future of Ukraine, - said Mykhailo Shelemba, CEO of DATAGROUP and Volia and the founder of the project, in his recent interview. - It is designed to say “thank you” to those people who gave their lives for Ukraine, sacrificing the most valuable thing - the opportunity to raise their children, put them on their feet, see their first steps in adulthood.
The project “Our Children” was launched in 2022 with the participation of the Juvenile Police of Ukraine and the Charitable Foundation “I am the Future of Ukraine”. Thanks to it, support is provided to children who have lost one or two parents as a result of the war. Companies and patrons who join the project undertake to help children with monthly financial contributions, improving living conditions, supporting their development and the first steps in acquiring a profession, etc.
“The war is merciless, the number of orphans is increasing every day. Currently, our project already has 137 wards, 86 of whom receive monthly assistance of 10 thousand UAH. from the companies “DATAGROUP” and Volia, the rest are supported by partners,” says Mykhailo Shelemba. – We are grateful for the recognition of the importance of what we do and for being able to once again draw public attention to the problem of supporting children who have lost their parents. We need more business partners to help not only financially, but also to provide broader educational opportunities, support in obtaining a profession, first job, and the formation of positive life experience.”
